current projects...

this is another sketch i did yesterday for the poster for an open lecture about the arab spring, that's organized by the amnesty university group at stockholms university

it will take place on 28th march ... but i'll post the final design for the poster^^

there happened quite a lot ... why do i never post? maybe cause i needed these whole 9 months to ...  äh .. :o ... ah yes: to learn ...

... i was never content, with what i did and so there was no reason for publishing it - or some other flimsy excuse like this ... but for not letting this blog die at all ... here are some sketches from two current projects and i'll post them, if they ever get finished ...

term is over

so, well, that was a long term, though we had'nt too much time for our project 

- bookillustration for "professor a. donda" by stanisław lem - ... but it was a quite productive time. some results are here, yeah and i'm in berlin enjoying, that this is done now and that there are a lot of new things coming up, stories to be told and new adventures to be experienced(: which i'm looking forward to ...

nach einem vorläufigen weltuntergang: unser erzähler sitzt vor seiner höhle, ein affe hat ihn aus einem bunker vertrieben....

... vorher ist einiges passiert: ein ingenieur hat sich bei einer kokosnussfabrikeröffnung in lamblia ziemlich naiv einem schakal gegenüber verhalten...

... woraufhin die regierung des erfundenen afrikanischen landes, ihre kokosnussfabrik- einrichtung zur bestattungshilfe nutzt ... der auch nicht ganz unnaive erzähler ijon tichy 

... darf darauf erstmal um sein leben laufen, wobei er netterweise den herrn professor affidavit donda kennenlernt, der ihn auf seinem kahn mitnimmt nach gurunduwaju, lamblias nicht weniger korrupten nachbarstaat. 

der professor wurde unter seltsamen umständen in die welt gesetzt:

... das ist aber nur eine der vielen nebenpassagen -  bald hat der professor enormen einfluss in lamblia:

mit einem riesencomputer kann er afrikanische flüche programmieren, wird daraufhin bald von der abergläubischen bevölkerung des kleinen afrikanischen landes gefürchtet und von der westlichen wissenschaft geächtet...

ein auftritt bei der kybernetischen weltkonferenz in oxford ist da auch nicht hilfreich... ihm glaubt niemand, als er sein gesetz erklärt: wenn wir weiter mit der informationsanhäufung in unseren millionen computern fortfahren, wird ein kritischer punkt erreicht: ein bit wird das fass zum überlaufen bringen, poff: auf einmal wird sich alle information zu ein paar miligramm masse verdichten- einem minikosmos: unsere computer werden mit einem schlag auf reset stehen und alle festplatten und speicher leer sein...

je mehr wissen wir ansammeln, umso mehr nähern wir uns der ignoranz.

in lamblia stört das niemanden so richtig, hauptsache, die staatlich angeordnete korruption läuft weiter....

... bittere vorwürfe werden gegen ende an den professor gerichtet: der kann sich zwar erklären, aber  nur noch mit viel galgenhumor: das weltende ist schließlich nicht mehr weit ....

... we will live in forests again ... i'm sure... slowly, we will collect way too much information in all our computers and heads and mp3-players _ then the law of donda will set in and ... !puff  t a b u l a  r a s a ;)
(no, i didn't read too much stanislaw lem, it's just, that we had a nice rehearsel for this future scenario last week ... a really comfortable though)

 ... one week working with analogue stencil printing in our nice "schullandheim" in the middle of the forest was very fine ... and it felt, like we where a group of witches ... ^^

i always use boards of clay as well

... or at least, i sometimes wish, i would do so more often ... last week, i didn't use the computer at all ... for the moment, ijon tichy posts thoughts in an analogue way, we'll see, how he gets along with this

gute nacht...

he shall protect from bad dreams (i'm shure he does;)

and if you cannot sleep: you will maybe not want to on may 14 :) ....

i did this posterdesign last term for "Lange Buchnacht Kreuzberg" and won the 3rd prize in our class (:

... then i'll be able to post another link here, for a nice place, where some great, chaotic gestalten try to learn  how to use there pencils as wands or like this;) ...  (sorry i have to stay so mysteriously, but it would spoil the surprise, if i was telling more at the moment^^ only so much: it's something really nice, and it's a real place in the real city here .... to warm up: please listen to captain beefheard and if you look for the opposite of his eccentric schrammelrock, try warpaint, i love them both so much (: though they are really different.... but hmmm...♥

... and this is another clip from last term... i made it together with two nice friends of mine, we had half an hour for filming and drawing... it was quite hard to produce it in such a short time, but though sound and cut coul need improvement, i'm fine with this clip now ...

and there is this clip... my animation, that i like to show here... it's just a very short one, only a bloody beginner's one (my work from the last semester), but watch for yourself^^ - short explanation: the lady, who vanishes should be a cool mary-poppinslike one, a taxi is ordered for her, but she is autonomous and she can vanish, whenever she likes... so she does... it's more like an intermezzo of a story ... more like a running gag... maybe, i'll have the chance to make a "real" animation movie one day and then, she will have her small part as well^^, but we will see(: 

... unfortunately it's in bad quality ... i'll post a better version soon
